Overview
For inventory products, it is possible to define different rate type categorisations for each service or room category. If an accommodation product has distinct rates for FIT or Groups, it is no longer required to create two distinct products in inventory for each of them.
Manage Rate Type in Inventory
Please note: This feature is only available for TripBuilder instances, which are enabled for Group Tours templates. Learn more about Group Tour Templates here. To enable Group Tours templates and rate types in inventory products, please contact Nezasa's Customer Support Team. |
When managing the pricing of an inventory product, it is possible to set different rate types per service category.
Rate Types
- General Rate
- A rate that can be used in any type of template.
- Group Rate
- A rate that can only be used for Group Tour templates.
- Flexible Individual Rate
- A rate that can only be used for FIT templates.
Please note: All inventory product categories previously created were mapped as General Rate. |
Products with Amenities
All products with Amenity support (e.g. activities, accommodations) also include the rate type classification.
Itinerary Instantiation in Planner
The definition of rate types in the inventory products will define the rules of each product service category that can be selected:
- Group Tour Templates
- Allow the selection of product categories with General and Group rates.
- Individual Tour Templates
- Allow the selection of product categories with General and FIT rates
- From-scratch Itineraries
- Allow the selection of product categories with General and FIT rates
For example, taking an itinerary from scratch allows one to search only for room categories containing general or FIT rates.
This principle is also applied to amenities in the hotel. So any room category or amenity, with Group Rates categorisation, is filtered out from the room categories offers list, as per the definition in the inventory accommodation product.
Customer Care
On the itinerary detail page for Markups, we display the respective rate type for each product.
Please note: For 3rd party supplier products, we consider all as a General Rate type. Currently, this classification is done only for Inventory products. |
Reports
The inventory reports also display the information about rate type in a dedicated column. The attribute is displayed in the following reports:
