Overview
You can swiftly apply a manual price adjustment to an already booked itinerary in TripBuilder.
Users in Customer Care can initiate ad hoc price changes, either an increase or a discount, by initiating a booking change and inputting the price difference (negative or positive) before completing the change. There’s no prerequisite to change components or the itinerary in Planner before executing this operation.
Adding a Price Increase or Discount
- Open Customer Care
- Locate and select the confirmed itinerary requiring a price adjustment.
- Tap the action button to initiate a booking change for the itinerary.
- Click Initiate Booking Change
- Click the action button again to complete the booking change.
- Click Complete Booking Change
- A pop-up window will appear, allowing you to input the Total Discount:
- Enter the exact amount to be discounted from the itinerary price.
- If you wish to increase the itinerary price, use a "-" before entering the amount.
- Click OK
The booking change will be completed, with the new value applied and recorded as a Discount on your itinerary overview page.
Please note: Applying a discount to an itinerary price will affect both the Customer Sales Price and the Sales Price. |
Visualising a Price Increase or Discount
- Open Customer Care.
- Select the confirmed itinerary needing a price adjustment.
- Click on Services & Price List located under the Itinerary section
- If a price increase or discount has occurred, the Internal Prices breakdown section will display a row with a Discount label.
Please note: While a promo code could also be considered a discount to the itinerary's price, the term "discount" specifies a manually applied price adjustment via a booking change Both promo codes (multiple) and discounts (single) can be applied to the same itinerary. Refer to the How to create and use Promo Codes? article for more details. |
Removing a Price Increase or Discount
Customer Care users can remove a previously applied price increase or discount, thereby restoring the original price. Just initiate a new booking change, set the discount value to '0' and confirm the booking change. This will remove any previous price change.
Change History
Although not visible in the Customer Care UI, changes are stored on the booking change history (date of change, original price and new price) and can be retrieved if needed. The changes are also reflected via Booking API and relayed to Midoco.
