What is a referrer?
As a referrer, we describe where users came from before reaching TripBuilder. To improve marketing campaigns, this is very relevant information.
What referrer-related features does TripBuilder provide?
API Integrations
If you have integrated your website based on our APIs, consider setting an agency of type "referrer" when creating the itinerary. Please see the Itinerary API docs and look for the parameter "agencyRefId" in the request to create an itinerary.
To use this feature, first, create an agency in the admin UI per acquisition channel. The generated agency will have a so-called reference ID that you can use in your API client to map from your acquisition channels to the agency.
The agency assigned to an itinerary will be exposed in the Cockpit customer care UIs and by our Booking API.
UI Integrations
If you use the UI-only iframe integration, we don't have support for any automated forwarding of acquisition parameters yet.
Please note: In the future, we aim to automatically store any "utm_" URL parameters on the booking, expose them again via booking API, and probably show them in the customer care UI. If this feature is important to you, please upvote it by mentioning it to our customer experience team. |
