Overview
The Notification Center is a reserved area at the top of the Planner where important notifications for the selected itinerary are presented as "sticky notifications". These are considered "sticky" as they will always be displayed while the user doesn't address the notification cause.
TripBuilder also uses "transient notifications" at the top right of the screen that provide an operation result, being displayed for a few seconds.
Notification Center
The Notification Center corresponds to an optional area at the top of the Planner and below the itinerary steps breadcrumb (for example, Main trip > Rental Car > Transports) for the itinerary. There's no title to keep the area as small as possible since it represents premium space in Planner.
Once one (or more) notifications are triggered and presented in the Notification Center, they'll always be visible at the top regardless of the selected itinerary step.
Notifications are different from one another and depend on the specific cause that triggers them. If multiple notifications are applicable simultaneously, they're stacked together, as represented in the image below.
Use Cases
This section provides examples of the most common notifications.
Product unavailability
- Notification: a component previously available in the itinerary isn't available anymore. According to different product types, derivations of the notification below will be presented.
- Possible cause: change on the itinerary's Start and/or End Dates.
- Possible solution:
- Return to the previous date(s) when the product(s) were available.
- Replace the unavailable component with a new one.
Different room configurations from the request
- Notification: the itinerary was created with a different room configuration/distribution from the one defined for instantiating the itinerary.
- Possible cause: due to a particular room configuration (for example, six adults in the same room) or lack of accommodation available in the destination for the requested room typology.
- Possible solution: if the proposed room configuration isn't suitable, please select different accommodations/rooms in the Planner.
