Overview
This article provides an overview of TripBuilder's Avuxi/TopPlaces connector and its key features.
Avuxi offers interactive Heat Maps that display the popularity and activity levels in different city areas. These maps use colour gradients to highlight hotspots and trending locations, offering valuable insights for travellers and businesses in the hospitality industry.
Supported Use Cases
Avuxi provides location-based heat maps highlighting popular sightseeing spots, dining areas, shopping destinations, nightlife venues, and transportation hubs. These insights help users make informed travel decisions and experience the best each location has to offer.
For example, below is a map showing gastronomy-relevant areas of interest in Madrid.
Setting up new credentials

1. Go to Settings
2. Click on Distribution Channels
3. Click on your TripBuilder ID for the Distribution Channel (under the TripBuilder Distribution Channels section)
4. Click on the 3rd-Party Integrations tab
5. Scroll down to the Avuxi V3 content section
6. In the setting Map Layers for Google Maps - ID, enter the access credentials you previously defined
7. Click Save at the top of the screen
Testing
The TopPlace API sandbox replicates the production environment and generates simulated responses. This allows users to mitigate the expenses associated with calls to the TopPlace API during testing and investigations.
The sandbox provides access to the complete functionality of the TopPlace API within a restricted geographic area, enabling thorough testing without impacting the broader system.
To get started, please refer to the API Sandbox documentation.
