Overview

The Book Directly feature allows Planner users to proceed to Checkout at any stage of their planning process. This feature speeds up the typical planning flow, allowing users who are confident in their finalised itinerary to skip unnecessary steps and go directly to Checkout.

The availability and display of this feature can be customised for each Distribution Channel.

"Book Directly" Action

You can access the Book Directly feature within the Planner at any point in the planning process. It is available in two locations:

• The "Wizard" navigation area at the top, in line with the breadcrumb trail of planning steps.
• The Sidebar on the right-hand side, below the Continue button.

Regardless of the link selected, both options will initiate the Checkout process. For example, in the illustration below, the "Traveller Details" step appears at Checkout. The first Checkout step may vary depending on the Distribution Channel configuration.

As an alternative to "Book Directly", Planner users can navigate through the planning steps by clicking on the steps in the "Wizard" breadcrumb area or clicking the Continue button at the end of a planning step or in the Sidebar.

In the example below, clicking Continue will direct the user from the Main trip to the Rental Car step.

Configuration Options

The "Book Directly" feature is configured for each Distribution Channel using the following steps:

1. Navigate to Settings.

2. Select Distribution Channels.

3. Choose your TripBuilder ID.

4. Click on the Planner tab.

5. Go to the General Planner Features section.

6. For the Show Book directly link setting, choose the desired configuration:

• Disabled: The feature will not be available in the Planner UI.
• Wizard Only: The direct booking link is only displayed in the wizard area. This is ideal for users who prefer a clean sidebar.
• Sidebar Only: The direct booking link is only displayed in the sidebar. Suitable for users who want to limit the visual components in the wizard area.
• All: The direct booking link is displayed both in the wizard area and sidebar of the Planner, providing maximum visibility.
