Overview
Domain white-labelling, also known as domain masking, allows you to host TripBuilder from your own domain, replacing Nezasa’s default domains with your custom ones.
Example:
Portal | IBE | |
TripBuilder Default | .tripbuilder.app | .ibe.tripbuilder.app |
White-Labelled Domain | app.your-domain.com | ibe.your-domain.com |
In this example, your-domain.com is your primary domain, set up during the TripBuilder instance configuration. You can choose any sub-domains you prefer.
Why Should I White-Label My Domain?
White-labelling your domain provides several benefits:
- Hide TripBuilder Branding: By white-labelling, you can mask the Nezasa brand, making it appear as if the technology is your own.
- Avoid Third-Party Cookie Restrictions (IBE only): Browser restrictions on third-party cookies can impact user preferences and analytics in the TripBuilder IBE. Using a white-labelled domain ensures that cookies are set within the same domain as your website, avoiding these issues.
Important: Nezasa highly recommends white-labelling at least the IBE domain to avoid third-party cookie restrictions. White-labelling the portal domain is optional. |
Potential Costs
- IBE White-Labelling: Free of charge due to third-party cookie restrictions in browsers.
- Portal Domain White-Labelling: May incur additional fees, depending on your current product plan.
HTTPS and Certificates
TripBuilder always runs on HTTPS. The HTTPS certificate is generated using AWS ACM (Amazon Web Services Certificate Manager), so you don't need to provide a certificate for the white-labelled domains.
Setting Up White-Labelled Domains
1. Choose your sub-domains to be white-labelled.
2. Create a support ticket with your request.
3. Nezasa will adjust your TripBuilder configuration and trigger the generation of the certificates.
4. Add the CNAME records to your DNS configuration as provided by Nezasa. You will need to add two CNAME records per white-label domain:
- CNAME 1: for actual domain mapping
- CNAME 2: for certificate verification
Important: You have a 48-hour window to add the CNAME 2 record for the certificate generation. |
5. Nezasa support will verify the configuration once the CNAMEs are set up.
How to Add a CNAME Record?
While steps can vary depending on your DNS provider, generally, you will need to:
1. Access the DNS settings where your domain is hosted.
2. Create a new DNS record of type "CNAME".
3. Enter your chosen sub-domain (e.g., IBE) as the name.
4. Set the record's value to the target domain provided by Nezasa.
Adding a CNAME record is a common task, and most hosting companies provide detailed instructions. Here are some useful links:
Email Links
Users created on a white-labelled domain will receive email links for sign-up and password reset actions directing them to the white-labelled domain. This allows users to bookmark the white-labelled domain for future use, making the TripBuilder default URL transparent.
Important: There are some restrictions concerning email links on a white-labelled domain:
