Overview
A Fixed Multi-day tour is an itinerary for groups or individuals whose included products can not be replaced or removed from the main program.
Please note: Although the itinerary is fixed, users can choose the desired program service level, add activities, upsell items, and select rental cars (besides pre and post-programs). |
How to set up a Fixed Multi-Day tour
Before you start building your first fixed tour, you have to ensure that your TripBuilder account has the Service Levels defined. Without defined Service Levels, you won't be able to create fixed modules.
Service Levels are an essential aspect of Fixed Multi-day tours because you want to ensure that trip planners have different service options when planning their trips.
Please note: The service level configuration can only be configured by Nezasa admin users. Please contact our Support team or your customer success manager to manage your account's service levels. It's possible to add up to 5 service levels. |
Managed Service Levels not only impact the categories that are displayed for Fixed Modules, but also the options that are displayed in the Managed Product Category field for components.
By assigning a specific Managed Product Category to each product category, once you add this product to a fixed module and instantiate the template, a connection will be made between the product and module category.
Example: If one room has a standard product category, and a module also has a standard category defined, then upon the itinerary instantiation, the standard<>standard link will be performed. For example, a tour with a superior category level can’t have a room with a standard category selection. |
Important: We don’t enforce/prefer the managed product category over no managed product category. If there is a room category in the same product that has no managed product category, but it is cheaper, e.g. 2 Double Rooms (one with a product category and the other without), then the cheapest option will be chosen. Products with no managed product category will always be available for selection in the Planner. |
Creating a Fixed Multi-day tour
To create a Multi-day tour, make sure you set the module(s) you would like to include in your template as fixed.
- You can create a new module and select Module Flexibility as fixed.
Please note: The field Module Flexibility is only displayed if managed Service Levels have been previously defined as described in section How to set up a Fixed Multi-Day tour. |
- You can also turn an old module into a fixed multi-day tour by accessing the miscellaneous tab and adjusting its Module Flexibility attribute.
Select Categories
As soon as a module is configured as fixed, you will be able to define which services levels will be available on it.
- Access the Categories tab and click on Add Category.
- All the service levels available on your Tripbuilder account will be displayed there, and you can select the ones you would like to use on your module.
Add Default Accommodation
Once a module is defined as fixed, you will be required to configure default accommodations for each service level and each stop.
- Click on the edit pen next to the stop.
- On the hotel tab, you see the select service category.
- Add a default accommodation for each category.
- You can also select recommended hotels for a given stop and service level. Those will be used as fallbacks if the recommended hotel is unavailable during the itinerary instantiation.
Important: Keep in mind that you must configure default accommodations for each service level and stop included on it. If any is missing, an error message will be displayed: |
Add Activities
Select the edit pen of the date you want to add an activity.
- Add the activities you want to offer on the stop.
Please note: The Removal Policy for activities on fixed modules is permanently fixed. |
Add Transfers
On fixed modules, you have the choice to add transfer placeholders of fixed transfer between stops.
- Click on the Add connection button.
- Select the desired transfer placeholder or product.
