Overview
The right pricing model is essential when creating an inventory accommodation in TripBuilder. Two options are available:
- Price per Room
- Price per PAX
This choice influences both the price calculation and the management of PAX allocations. This article focuses on the occupancy-based option associated with the Price per Room selection.

Adding Occupancy-Based Categories and Seasons
Steps to Add Room Categories
1. Click on the Room Categories tab
2. Previously defined room categories will be displayed, along with any already existing seasons
3. Click the Add Room Category button to create a new room category. There is no limit to the number of room categories you can define
4. In the Add room category popup, provide the name for the new room category
5. Click on the OK button
6. The new room category will be displayed
7. Enter a Mini Description as optional support metadata
8. Select the Pricing Type from the available options:
- Price per Room
- Price per PAX
- External
Please note: Only the option Price per Pax can be used for room dimension pricing. |
Defining Room Types and Occupancies
1. In the Pricing section, choose Room Types from the drop-down field
2. Click on the Edit icon next to the drop-down
3. A popup will appear where you must select the room type to be assigned to the room category. The following options are available:
- Single Room
- Double Room
- Double Room - Single Occupancy
- Triple Room - Fully Booked
- Quadruple Room - Fully Booked
Please note: Each room type requires the definition of PAX occupancy parameters, namely:

4. Once you have selected the room type and defined the occupancies, click on the Save button

Removing an Occupancy-Based Category
You can delete occupancy-based categories by following these steps:
1. Select the accommodation and click Checkout & Open from the actions menu in the top right corner.
2. Click on the Room Categories tab
3. Identify the room category you wish to remove
4. Click on the trash icon, in line with the room category name, on the right side
5. Confirm the deletion action in the popup that appears
Please note: A room category can only be deleted if there are no open allotments associated with it. If open allotments exist, an error message will be displayed, preventing the deletion from impacting existing bookings. |
