How to add license & attribution to pictures?

Pictures should be checked for their licenses and rights to commercial use before uploading

Pictures Requiring Licensing

The following information is required:

  • The name of the author
  • Source (website, photographer etc.)
  • License type, i.e. Creative Commons
Example:

Author for Attribution [SnippyHolloW] (https://www.flickr.com/photos/snippyhollow/6115547354) via [Flickr] (https://www.flickr.com)
License for Attribution

[CC BY-SA 2.0] (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/legalcode)

Pictures Not Requiring Licensing

If the picture is without required licensing, the field for attribution can be disregarded. The author may still be mentioned, but brackets are not needed anymore.

Example:

Author for Attribution SnippyHolloW
License for Attribution Does not need to be filled in this case

Note: If you are using your own pictures usually no license information are required. Therefore do not need to be entered.
